OPERATING, USE AND HINTS FOR MAKING THE PERFECT HOT DOG

Before using your Hot Diggity Dogger to make the world's best hot dog it is important to review these important facts:

The Hot Diggity Dogger was designed to use only standard size wieners and buns. Standard-size wieners are approximately 5" long and usually come 12 to a package; standard-size buns are approximately 6" long and usually come 8 to a package.  Do not use jumbo-size wieners or buns in your Hot Diggity Dogger even if a larger wiener initially fits into the basket, heating will cause it to swell and become tightly jammed.  All wieners and buns are not created equal and this factor has a strong influence on cooking procedures, timing and success.  The moisture of the bun varies with its freshness, producing different toasting characteristics; in general, the less fresh, or drier, the bun, the less toasting time needed, so adjust the variable heat control accordingly.  In addition, less expensive wieners contain more moisture and fat and may swell more; if they become jammed simply let them cool a minute and they will contract for easy removal.  Also, room temperature wieners will cook much more quickly than just-from-the-fridge wieners. So remember, warmer wieners and dryer buns cook more quickly; cooler wieners and fresher buns take longer.

Okay - now you're ready to enjoy the perfect hot dog!

Simply plug your Hot Diggity Dogger into a properly wired 120 volt receptacle.  Place two standard-size all meat, chicken or beef wieners in the two round openings in the top.  Carefully open two hot dog buns and place them in the semi-circle openings.  Considering the cooking/timing variations explained above, adjust the variable heat control knob on the side of the unit (yellow indicating the shortest cooking time; burgundy the longest).  Push down the lever and in less than 5 minutes your perfectly grilled hot dogs and toasted buns will automatically pop up ready to enjoy.  To shorten the cooking time once you've begun, simply turn the variable heat control knob to a lighter setting, or all the way to the left to stop the cooking process.

Apply condiments only after hot dogs and buns have been removed from the Hot Diggity Dogger.  Unplug the toaster, remove the wiener basket and crumb tray (after they have completely cooled), clean and return them to the toaster and store the toaster in a safe place until its next use.

As with most new heating/cooking appliances, you will notice a slight odor the first few times you use your Hot Diggity Dogger This is normal and will begin to diminish after use.

A BETTER HOT DOG BY DESIGN

The Hot Diggity Dogger functions as a toaster and broiler in one innovative, compact unit that was designed to take hot dog enjoyment to a delicious new height - in one easy step without any mess!  The unique cooking method of the broiler brings out the best in your hot dog by converting fat molecules to sugar molecules something like this:  When heat is applied, the pores of the wiener open, and molecules of fat erupt and run down its sides in a self-basting action. As the surface of the wiener gets hotter, the skin turns a "caramelized" golden brown and seals, trapping moisture inside and heating the hot dog to a core temperature of 160' - all without drying or burning the skin. What you have then is a superior hot dog ready to pop into a perfectly toasted bun.  And how do you make the best hot dog even better?  Simply add a special sauce, a tasty blend of condiments and your imagination!
