EASY TO OPERATE INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Simply place food in the non-stick coated basket
provided. The Original Toast-R-Grill basket can be reversed to allow thicker
items to be cooked. See A or B settings on cooking chart.
2. Do not let the food extend outside the basket perimeter.
3. Make sure the baskets are closed and locked before
loading into Original Toast-R-Grill.
4. Place bread/buns in bread compartment. Bread will heat
gently while food cooks.
5. Set timer to desired time.
6. Depress lever.
7. Keep your Original
Toast-R-Grill clean after each usage
- it will work better.
GENERAL COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
Please read these instructions carefully before using your
Original Toast-R-Grill for the first time, and keep for future reference.
1. Frozen meats, poultry and some fish must be completely
defrosted before cooking. (See cooking chart)
2. Some frozen products such as breaded fish (fish sticks
and fillets) and frozen pastry/bread products (waffles, toaster strudels) may be
cooked from frozen (see detailed cooking instructions). A general rule of thumb
for cooking time is approximately 1/2 the time given for the product since heat
is from both sides.
3. Cooking times in the cooking chart are for the specific
portion sizes as indicated; cooking times will vary if the portion size is
increased / decreased.
4. Meat, chicken and fish must be boneless and skinless.
5. Cheese products like pizza, should not come into direct
contact with the cooking elements.
6. Meats such as chicken breasts should be flattened to a
uniform thickness.
7. All meats to be cooked should fit in the boundary of the
basket. Do not allow it to stick out of the sides or top of the basket.

SPECIALIZED
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:
MEATS & POULTRY: Place thawed portion of meat in the
basket.
Cook for time indicated on the chart.
Tips:
1. For extra flavour brush with BBQ sauce of your choice
before cooking.
2. Marinates add flavour, especially to chicken and turkey
breasts, pork or veal schnitzel, and fast fry sandwich steaks. See marinade
recipes on page 16.
3. Meats coated in breadcrumbs can be brushed with a little
oil or melted butter to aid browning.
FISH: Place thawed portion of fish in basket. Cook for the
time
indicated on chart.
Tips:
1. Brush uncoated fish fillets with a little oil and
sprinkle with seasoning salt of your choice.
2. Breaded frozen fish products may be cooked in the
Original Toast-R-Grill from frozen. See chart for times or cook for
approximately half the time suggested in the toaster oven.
SAUSAGES: Choose sausages of approximately 3-4 oz. (no
larger) and bend to fit into the basket. Prick with a fork and cook according to
chart.
SANDWICH MEATS, FULLY COOKED SAUSAGES AND MEATS: Drain any
liquid off the meats, arrange in basket evenly, cook according to chart.
Re-heating time depends on thickness of slices of meats.
BUN: Cut bun in half, place in bread compartments for full
cooking time. Bread will warm only.
BREADS: Unfrozened bread: crumpets, english muffins, and
bagels; drop into cooking compartment for desired time.
Pita Bread, Tortillas: Warm in bread compartments while
cooking meats.
Frozen Pastries: waffles, toaster
strudels:
Cook in baskets from
frozen.
Note: Times may vary according to personal preference.
OTHER FOODS TO TRY IN YOUR TOAST R GRILL
TOASTED SANDWICHES - GRILLED HAM & CHEESE: Place meat
and/or cheese between 2 slices of buttered bread (buttered side to the outside),
adding condiments like mayo and mustard. Place in basket and cook 2 to 2 1/2
minutes depending on personal preference for colour and crispness.
MARINADES
The following marinades are very quick and easy to make and
are suitable for either beef, pork or chicken.

1 tblsp. each soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, and
worcestershire sauce.
-
2 tblsp. each soy sauce and orange juice, I tblsp., each
vinegar and honey, pinch ground ginger.
-
2 tblsp. each orange juice and chili sauce, 1 tblsp.
ketchup.
Mix together ingredients for marinate of your choice and
pour over meat for 10-15 minutes before grilling.
